Grey’s Skink, also referred to as Common dwarf skink, is one of species in a ground-dwelling skinks in the genus Menetia, which in turn belongs to the Eugongylus Group. Only one species of Menetia is found in the Canberra region.
Menetia have four fingers and five toes, so it helps if your photo includes the front fingers.
Grey’s skink is a very small skink with smooth scales and prominent limbs. It is grey to brown, usually with a stripe of black flecks along its back. Bellies are silvery grey, although some populations (outside the Canberra region) have bright-yellow bellies.
Distribution: It appears to be relatively common in and around Canberra but beyond that little is known of its distribution.
