Doratifera oxleyi (Painted Cup Moth)
Caterpillars are green, initially with red thorax and penultimate abdominal segemts, with a yellow head and tail. Later instars develop black-outlined oval yellow spiracles along the sides, and yellow flshy spikes along the sides. When disturbed: the caterpillar everts yellow stinging hairs from the thorax and terminal abdominal segments. The cocoon is laid sideways onto a plant stem. The adult moths are brown with a gry band along the forewing margins.
