A guide on how to separate G. linearis & G. rigens:-

G. linearis has longer narrower leaves even when lobed and the lobes are "shallower". The leaves tend to be basal and taper towards the base. The flower stalks (peduncles) arise directly from the base of the plant and are shorter to 20cm. The ray florets have a dark abaxial stripe and adaxial basal blotch or spot.

G. rigens has shorter broader leaves and more deeply lobed leaves, which occur up the stem not basal. The flower stalks (peduncles) are axillary and longer up to 35cm. The ray florets have a black base marked with a white dot.

Gazania x splendens is listed in the following regions:

Canberra & Southern Tablelands  |  Albury, Wodonga  |  South Coast
