Family Araneidae.
Although classified in the orb-weaver family Araneidae, these spiders do not construct webs to capture prey. Instead, at night they produce a chemical that mimics the sex pheromone emitted by certain female moths, thereby attracting male moths which they then ambush in the manner of crab spiders of the Thomisidae.
