Hi Alison. The blurb for Syllitus microps says "outer white costa (longitudinal ridge) of each elytron is longer than the inner one, and at their apex both costae curve inwards towards the suture". I don't quite understand. Is this true for this sighting?

@michaelb I'm no expert so I could be wrong, but what I noted on another site (iNaturalist??) is a difference in size so this is the basis I use. S. microps is much smaller than S. rectis. I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I'm not good on the scientific terminology. But I suspect there are a few misidentifications for both species, on CNM & ALA. This sighting on ALA by Reiner Richter is likely to be correct, "outer white costa (longitudinal ridge) of each elytron is longer than the inner one": https://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/81e9646b-075d-4356-8be8-e88c73a0fc3f
On my sighting, the outer white costa of each elytron is shorter than the inner one
