The sequence of images shows a winged Queen ant with two winged males attempting to mate, one successfully. The winged Queen had a White Slug Mite attached just above the connection of her left wing to her body. The mite is shown in following sighting 4565991 for the record.
Hi Tim, great set of photos. It looks like Notoncus, possibly Notoncus capitatus, but I'm not sure. Having a mite attached seems unfortunate - she must have only been out of the nest for a few hours, so it isn't a good start! Cheers, Jon
