"Kunzea ericoides" in the strict sense applies to a New Zealand species that looks quite different to what we have over here. In the ACT we are currently using the name while the correct treatment is sorted out; this will likely mean several new species and hence the current application of "Kunzea ericoides" in Australia is rather variable. Currently the only name in the complex that we are using is K.peduncularis which isolates montane/subalpine plnts. Hence this plant is probably an undescribed species.
