Good photos. It's size suggests a macromoth family. The smooth appearance rules out Lasiocampidae and Anthelidae. The speckled pattern rules out Noctuidae. The 2 dorsal knobs on the thorax and single on the tail rule out Sphingidae. The habit rules out Cossidae and Hepialidae. That leaves Geometridae or Erebidae, although the full set of prolegs rules out many species in those families. What is the foodplant? The knobs are are probably diagnostic, but I cannot find any known caterpillars like that in these families. I do hope you can rear it to an adult moth for identification.
