User's notes

Initially thought to be Gynatrix pulchella, but petals too many or are divided, and unlikely habitat. Certainly fits Malvaceae. Two shrubs, beside trail, beside tree. Possibly a garden escape ?

Thanks Jane having a go with this one, not anything I am familiar with, I do suspect it is in Malvaceae, probably not something native. @Tapirlord any ideas?

Looks ok for Gynatrix to me, especially with those fruit. The flowers looks ok from my end albeit a little tatty. This species also grows on red hill which is away from its typical river corridor habitat so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

Definitely Malvaceae. The flowers are a bit hard to work out from the photos re the number & shape of petals for Gynatrix, & the plants and foliage seem to be more hairy than local plants I'm familiar with, but I suspect it is Gynatrix pulchella.
