Great find, Susan. And in a most unexpected location. Very few records of this species in ACT. Could you provide a little info on the circumstances under which you found it?
Hi Harvey. It was a beautiful walking day; sunny, low 20s, only a slight breeze. We were on the designated footpad between the Camel Hump management trail and Johns Peak which is a fairly narrow (or harrowing) footpad. We were just where it starts the climb up to the peak so it's still mostly dirt not rocky track, lots of poa and small (but not snow gum) trees - sorry I'm not very good with plants. This was the only damselfly we saw that day (we went onto Tidbinbilla Peak and then straight down an unofficial footpad to the management trail). We did see some but not many dragonflies during the day (tau emeralds if I was to guess but they didn't stay still enough for a photo).
