I thought it was Rubus fruticosus agg. that was the catch-all name while R. anglocandicans was the commonest of the known species, as in the Blackberry Control Manual. Have things changed since I had to record cane cross-section etc before my ID was accepted? Not that I care much when removing the fruit in summer.

Technically speaking that is correct, the precedent on CNM seems to be just to use R. anglocandicans however, which is ok for now. Though it will need to change should we actually work out which species are in the ACT, I think R. anglocandicans is regarded as a synonym of another taxa overseas. Details like Cane-cross section are requried for a definitive ID.
