I think the absence of yellow patches in the forewing basal area, and also of black subterminal markings, rules out T. micalis.

Yes, it would be useful. There has been interest interest in trying to better identify this or similar moths. Glenn Cocking has a collection licence so normally you could pass it on alive to him in a small plastic container or bottle. However, Glenn is away in Queensland for the next 10 days or so.

I sometimes collect moths for Glenn and he has asked me to store them in the freezer. It is best to put it in the freezer as soon as possible after it's captured.
