patch of young plants, even-sized (even-aged) and about 1 m high. Just beginning to flower: probably for the first time, as there are no old fruits present

Most likely garden escapes; species is fairly frequently cultivated in gardens.
The ACT Census of vascular plants 2019 lists Melaleuca parvistaminea as Exotic [Aust]
Melaleuca parvistaminea MYRTACEAE Exotic [Aust] 2010 B.J.Lepschi 3916 et al.

I saw that the M. paristaminea sighting on Mt Ainslie lists the species as a local species.
Do you use the Census or other sources for decisions on status?
