Why is this P. diema rather than P. sparsa? Transverse line not broken = sparsa; Costa curved near tip = sparsa, for male diema it is straight; Transverse line meets costa a fair way back from tip; Brackets () = diemeni (maybe, is this diagnostic?); Hindwing is dark along trailing edge (doesn't fit with either)

Yes: all rather subtle and subjective. I think this one needs genitalia dissection and/or DNA to determine the species.
