Thanks for the sighting - this is currently considered a rare species in the ACT and is susceptible to phytophora, The cotter dam area is a bit of a hot spot for it but this is a new location.
So what makes it Xanthorrhoea glauca subsp. angustifolia and not Xanthorrhoea glauca subsp. glauca. I grow a number Xanthorrhoea glauca subsp. angustifolia/glauca and a number in my garden. Is Xanthorrhoea glauca subsp. angustifolia only found in ACT?
Yes Xanthorrhoea gluaca subsp glauca is only native to northern NSW. Xanthorrhoea glauca subsp. angustifolia is the only grass tree native to the ACT - though there are other species in surrounding areas of NSW
Thank you for your reply Michael. You are a true stalwart of CNM and of native plants per se. Have you thought of adding videos to the site? Particularly videos streamed via a YouTube channel that could be linked to other enviro groups such as the ANPSC Day Activity Group Mailchimp e-newsletter.
We are thinking of having an associated website where videos and other material could be accessed. Our sister site on the far south coast is ahead of us in this context - and has several great videos for public access https://atlasoflife.org.au
