A tussock moth but not sure which one. I suspect male and female about to mate.

Why is T. sparshalli listed as a 'Bombyx' in 'Other Moths'?
It is in Noctuoidea.

I understood Trichiocercus sparshalli is in the family Notodontidae and yes, in the superfamily Noctuoidae, but not in the family Noctuidae which we have grouped together with Erebidae in our CNM classification of species., so I would have thought Other Moths is appropriate.

It certainly is not in Bombycoidea. 'Long Tailed Bombyx' is totally inappropriate. Can we follow MOV's more sensible common name of 'Sparshall's Moth'.
Anyway lots of other Notodontids like Epicoma and Neola sp. are in Nocts+ Erebs.
I think it would be convenient if all the Notos were in the same list.
Indeed, Thaumetopoeinae is listed in Nocts +Erebs, and T. sparshalli is in Thaumetopoeinae,
so T. sparshalli should be in Nocts+Erebs too.

Absolutely agree that ALL noctuoid moths should be under the one grouping in CNM. Another example is Uraba (Nolidae) which IS currently under "Noctuid moths (Noctuidae & Erebidae)". Suggest the grouping should be changed to "Noctuoid moths".

I agree that all the Noctuoid moths should be in the one grouping (to correct the current taxonomic inconsistencies), but only, in my opinion, if the correct families and genera of the superfamily Noctuoidae are all included i.e. this means the following families: Erebidae, Euteliidae, Noctuidae, Nolidae, Notodontidae and Oenosandridae.

Alison, its probably a programming error, so I think the Locational descriptor anomaly i.e. re 'Kaleen' should be reported via the Technical Support facility available under the 'Support' tab above .

Actually, it's a common Google map problem. Not sure of the solution apart from reporting to Google Map.
