OK: in that case how about Mormoscopa sordescens, having lost the torni of the forewings from a bird attack?

Certainly looks similar to Mormoscopa spp, but the forewing pattern to me does not seem to match M. sordescens or M. phricozona.

Perhaps Arrade destituta with wings held 'flat'

Its the same as 4245250 and 4241794. Should we put up a reward?

Yes, I thought so. Perhaps. Its certainly frustrating not being able to name such a distinctive looking species. But with an estimated 10,000 species in Australia on one level I’m not surprised. I suspect its a normally sub-tropical or inland species. I suggest creating a temporary category for it.

Yes, Owen isright. Records 4241794, 4245326 and 4245250 are of Arrade destituta with its wings held flat rather than in the usual position of nearly vertical.
