Thanks for posting. Pauropsalta mneme and Atrapsalta furcilla are very similar in outward appearance and hard to tell from a photo. I have identified this one as Atrapsalta furcilla based primarily on the more slender body shape (P. mneme is quite stocky) and would be interested to hear your thoughts. They often occur together in the ACT, but have quite different songs.

Ta. I had a listen to the audios on the cicada website (which I have promptly bookmarked) and I'm pretty sure it was the furcilla sound not mneme. I probably should get into the habit of recording a little audio to help with identification
Great. The other giveaway for A. furcilla is that the abdomen extends quite close to the end of the fore wings (as per your photos), whereas in P. mneme the abdomen is much shorter. I hope you find the website useful.
