on revisiting this photo, I am pretty sure it is the introduced species, Typha latifolia; which seems to be spreading northwards into the ACT and adjacent NSW. Attention to ACT Parks @ACTParks-InvasivePlantsTeam @NathanaelC
Ok it seems like what i've done is got myself confused with the key couplet separating this from M.simulans. My video note shows a count of emergent leaves in whorls of 5.
