At least twenty dodonaeas coming into flower in this area, most around 1m to 1.5m tall.

I don’t think the subspecies is angustifolia. I think it might be angustissima-spatulata intergrade. However, I think an expert from the Herbarium should look at a dried specimen, which can be dropped off at the front desk at the Botanic Gardens here in Canberra. So at present I am calling it Dodonaea viscosa.
