There were possibly 100s of these caterpillars along the bike path between Dunrossil Drive and where the bike path goes down the hill to the west. They were crawling on the path and in the grass. They must have been on the path for a while as many had been squashed by passing bikes by the time I came through at 5 PM. The caterpillars were varying sizes. I saw Australian Ravens and White-winged Choughs in the vicinity but no indication the birds were feeding on the caterpillars. Sorry for the low quality photos, I was using my phone camera.
