In Photo 2 you see some spores (taken from a spore print and stained red with phloxine), which measured 7.2-8.4 x 4.8-6.0 microns. The other inset photos show hairs from the outer surface (with closer views of the smooth, swollen apices of two). In Photo 3 there is a drawn-back view showing much of this specimen, on a fallen twig. At arm’s length all you would see is a featureless, brownish sheet. The spore sizes seem a little unusual but for now Merismodes anomala seems the best fit for this specimen.
