I don’t think it is Pomaderris intermedia. There is no sign of petals and the flowers are cream rather than yellow. A photo showing clearly the hairs on the back if a leaf would help with the ID.

I have added a new photo showing hairs on the underside of the leaf and the stem. Perhaps this will help with the Id.

It keyed quite easily to Pomaderris ligustrina in the Plantnet key. However, in a key with hundreds of leads, it is extraordinarily easy to take the wrong turn. Does your plant fit the description?
