After 10hours non-stop hand weeding and bagging this lot is now rotting at Canberra Sand and Gravel...

Unfortunately we are having a resurgence INVASION of this Cursed Weed this year (March 2020). Now because of Covid 19 STOP work for X months ? it's going to get a renewed foothold... Xod Ver Domme ! = *#?#@****!! (Bad words)

during drought, nutrients accumulate in the soil; when it finally rains particularly when the soil is still warm everything explodes. Since native groundcover has nearly gone due to overgrazing, the weeds have a great run. I must say though I'm disappointed about the very high rate of germination at sites where we treated (sprayed and mechanical removal) PC for years. At some sites, I wonder whether it is not a bad thing to let it grow because it is the only plant that holds the soil together. The overgrazing has by far the biggest negative impact on the conservation values of the grassy woodlands in the nature reserves. We could inundate Mt Majura with herbicide year in year out - which we've done at some parts - until all weeds are gone however all what we will end up with is bare ground and erosion.
