How extraordinary! Barb, thanks so much for this record - I haven't seen Plume grass for such a long time. There are 2 species on the Mt Majura Flora list and I wonder which one ... I don't recall Plume grass at this site and will head out asap to have a look.,
Barb, if you have the time would you mind to take a photo of the Plume grasses at Blue Metal Road? pehaps even collect a specimen as entire as possible ie roots leaves fruits; I'm happy to collect specimen from your place or go there myself if I have the coordinates ... many thanks w
Hi Barb I checked around Blue Metal Road as well as again the patch of grasses at The Fair and now wonder whether the grasses are in fact the Speargrass Austrostipa densiflora. Most have already shed their seeds and the empty seed heads look a bit like those of Plumegrasses; see also Austrostipa densiflora (Foxtail Speargrass) I collected a specimen still with seeds attached from The Fair patch for id.
