Awesome photos Tim, great to bump into you.

Disclaimer: Never wear shorts when going anywhere near snakes or where you expect snakes might be. I mucked up here and I should have been smarter by having long pants and potentially gaiters on.

Inspired by Tim's sighting from the other day, I thought I would drop in to see if I could get a glance at an Eastern Brown at this known location.

We saw 2 Eastern Browns, and at short notice, this snake decided to turn left and change direction to come towards me. I was really conscious not to startle or alarm the snake, so I decided that it was best to stay completely frozen. The strategy worked and the snake simply went straight past my shoes and on its merry way.

The recommended strategy to stay completely still (thus offering no threat) worked well in this situation. Aaron, you did well to keep your nerve and you were wise not to dare take a photo, despite being in an "ideal" position to take a close-up! No need to mention that you were inappropriately dressed for the occassion, as you clearly own it in your disclaimer. This was a close call indeed and a good lesson on what to do and what not to do. :)
