While the holotype of this moth species is from WA, P. Marriot has posted a photo identified as this species which closely matches this specimen recorded at Gisborne Victoria, see https://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:00ce642e-6431-4aab-a5b6-03ee4f6f05a7

The holotype photo and the CNM photo don't look a close enough to make a clear identification. I think Proteuxoa sp is as far as we can go at the moment.

OK, no worries. I've photographed quite a few specimens of this moth over the last fortnight or so.

While i can see similarities with images of P. amaurodes, neither the ALA nor Bold Systems 4 recognise P. amaurodes as occurring outside Tasmania, Victoria (mainly southern) plus a few records in south eastern SA. I have no idea what ANIC records there may be for NSW or the ACT, for P. amaurodes but it would seem on the face of it that an ACT record would be an extension of range - although perhaps not unlikely from an ecological perspective.
