Photographs by Tony Howard.
we observed only males which were running on bare ground stopped frequently and performed low dashes of flight of approx 10m max length.
All animals we observed / collected (and released) that day were males including the one of which Tony took these 2 photos. We haven't observed a female at this day.
I thought originally that the sighting of the S. plana female i.e No. 3384817 was also on the same day (1 Nov.) but then realised it was later ie. on 10 November, but nearby.
I think the female finding 4 years after the males were spotted is a sign that there is a stable breeding population. I'm not aware of anyone monitoring GSM at this location. The 2 observations of 2013 and recently were by chance; I discovered the female during my Fridays @ The Fair weeding activity.
