Iast week I saw a lot of Acacia dawsoniii and it has narrower longer leaves with prominent longitudinal veins. I am not confident about my Acacia buxifolia suggestion, but struggle to think what else it could be

I am not sure either. Acacia biuxifolia has a single prominent midvein, and side veins at an angle. The photos are not really good enough to say one way or the other. Acacia buxifolia: http://worldwidewattle.com/imagegallery/image.php?p=0&l=b&id=23584&o=1 And Acacia dawsonii: http://worldwidewattle.com/imagegallery/image.php?p=0&l=d&id=23624&o=1

I will check that out. On that corner is both Acacia melanoxylon and A. boormanii. Have never seen A. dawsonii on Farrer and Wanniassa

I took a sample to the ANPS monthly meeting with several experts there no one could say what it was. Suggestion was a cross between A.Boormanii and A.Buxifolia but others disagreed. Masumi has taken a piece home for identification.

Masumi has keyed out this Acacia and suggests it is A. lunata a coastal wattle but she needs the seed pods to be sure.which are not available at present,. It does fit all the criteria. Mike you might like to take a sample to the Herbarium if you think it is worth it. It must be a garden escapee.

Thanks Julie can you please confirm once it has set a pod.

Will do - In Fairley and Moore it states that this plant was previously in the A.buxifolia complex.
