Hi Betty. I have seen Acacia boormanii around this district quite frequently, and I am quite confident this plant is not that species. Can you have another look at it. I have added another close up photo. The leaves were quite long, much longer than A. boormanii, and there were only a few flowers in each cluster.

Thanks Betty. When I said "a few flowers" I was meaning a few flower-heads. But I see what you mean. Acacia dawsonii is a good match.
