I don't know if Ailanthus altissima leaves retain their stink at this time of year. It has been described as like rancid peanuts, sweaty socks, and semen. Do you have a close up of the leaves? Ailanthus altissima leaves have at least two small lobes at the base, each with a gland on the end.

Tree of Heaven (really Hell) have a (sometimes up to 3) small thumb like teeth at base of leaf, the thumb has a conspicuous smelly gland. The leaves are more than 40cm long and the leaflets are about 12 x 5cm, where as those of Chinese pistachio are smaller.
