It has been present as a weed around the Lake for at least 30 years. I have been worried about it spreading down stream, but as yet this does not seem to have happened
There was quite a lot of this one by the lake. I was wondering what you thought about the Lombardy Poplar - that seems to be spreading along the Murrumbidgee River?
I think Lombardy Popular should be treated as with any member of the willow family as a potentially significant weed that we should not plant next to waterways and control in areas of environmental importance. Under the ACT's pest plants and animals act it is prohibited to propagate or sell this plant.
