Mike, the PlantNET key to the subspecies is here: http://plantnet.rbgsyd.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/NSWfl.pl?page=nswfl&lvl=sp&name=Bursaria~spinosa you will need to look at the length & width of the leaves and petal length to try and separate them. Looking at the distribution maps for the subspecies in PlantNET it seems possible that both subspecies could occur in this region, I've never tried to take them beyond species level identification.
