Actual flowers were more deep pink than in the picture. Location approx, things never look quite the same in satellite imagery...

I suspect you may have an Erodium sp. Have a look at the images for Erodium cicutarium. And yes, I know what you mean about some pink flowers coming out more lighter in colour I've also been having that problem (eg my Geranium photos!), something to do with the sensor in digital cameras perhaps? In the film days it was blue flowers turning violet owing to the films sensitivity to UV light.

Thanks Ken T, I agree. I've also got the blue/violet issue sometimes as well, but the problem being that they turn out paler than they are
