On having another look at the on-line Flora of NSW this could also be Pimelea curviflora var. acuta which has yellowish green leaves, whereas var. sericea is said to have pale or dull green leaves. That seems to be the only consistent difference between the varieties in the Flora. Unfortunately I lack the experience to reliably differentiate between these varieties.
Ken I think you are right with your var acuta, as it's upper leaf surfaces seem free of hairs and those on the lower surface seem largely on margin and mid vein, which is more in keeping with the Flora of NSW description
