Oemethylus triangularis (Wild Passionfruit Weevil)
It was thought that this distinctive native weevil must be an introduction to the Canberra region, since its host plants (Passiflora spp.) were thought not to be native here. But Red Passionfruit (Passiflora cinnabarina) has been recorded in the Booroomba Rocks area on several occasions growing in granite crevices. This has been extensively discussed on CNM and the decision was that it was native here. On Black Mountain it appears to be an escapee.
