This is the Tom 2 family, the morning after the female fledged (sighting 4635145). At first, I saw the adults inspecting their old hollow. Dad then growled and shooed mum to a nearby copse of trees, where I discovered their young daughter hanging tenuously onto thin twigs near the top of the tree. The area was thickly covered in leaves - and therefore providing camouflage for vulnerable young fledglings (well, that's my theory, anyway!). The male fed her at least twice, while mum watched on and rested. Dad flew off to a tree across the track, where I heard another young squawk, then watched as two birds circled, low and fast, until one crashed-landed in the clumsy way very young birds have. I believe that dad was caring for their son, who had fledged a couple of days earlier, while mum was caring for their daughter. These photos show the newly fledged female cleaning her feet, and her pink knees (as described by Cam). Dad is feeding her (videoed as well as photographed)
