I'm confused about the ID of this beetle. These beetles seem to be identifiled as Repsimus aeneus on iNat and Repsimus manicatus montanus on NatureMapr. ALA has both species but I can't tell the difference.

Repsimus manicatus as currently recognized is split into two subspecies, Repsimus manicatus manicatus, and Repsimus manicatus montanus. The two subspecies have different colouration, with R. manicatus manicatus mostly red and black, and R. manicatus montanus greenish. The latter looks similar to R. aeneus in colouration (R. aeneus being often more blue-purple-black), and the appearance of the colour depends a bit on lighting/flash etc. The males are easy to distinguish, as R. manicatus in both subspecies has hind tibiae that are enlarged, especially towards the end, with a triangular shape in side view. The hind tibiae of R. aeneus are not enlarged in comparison, and more tubular shaped. The underside of the abdomen is in both sexes covered in white hairs in R. manicatus montanus all the way to the middle, but mostly hairless in R. aeneus and R. manicatus manicatus. In the case of your beetle, it should then be a female R. manicatus montanus.

I think the colouration in R. manicatus manicatus and R. aeneus is somewhat variable, and there are probably a number of misidentifications still on iNat. As often not all of the relevant characters are visible, it's difficult to sort through them, however.
