I have taken specimens of stems/fruit to ANBG for Herbarium identification, but waiting for results. Should I make another collection now it is flowering?
Mike flowers are bisexual which rules out Asparagus officinalis and makes Asparagus virgatus probable- a common and serious weed in Australia but only one record from the ACT (Inaturalist on Red Hill) and it is pretty hard from the INaturalist photo to determine that it is virgatus - will wait till you hear back from the herbarium to confirm
Michael, the iNaturalist sighting on Red Hill is incorrectly identified; I went recently and found it to be Asparagus officinalis, https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4622863.
