User's notes

35 cm tall. Quite a different colour, both in flower colour and in leaf and stem colour, from: https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4614526 It also appears to be later flowering as there are plants just coming into flower on the 22nd October, whereas the colony associated with the sighting: (https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4614526) was almost finished flowering.

Perhaps just an outlier with someone funky genetics? I have seen a C. montanus with a red beard. Otherwise it could be the lighting and the beard appears redder in full sun?

Thanks Matt and Ciaran, both sightings were in full sun, but this sighting appeared to be redder whereas the other sighting was purple. There were also other plants growing amongst the Allocasuarina, nearby, that had buds that had not yet opened with the same stem colour. I guess it could be natural variation in colouring and flowering time.
