Are you sure it's Merocroca automima? The colour is a bit different and there is no narrow light edge under the brown on the costal edge of the forewing. I'm not sure if it's always there in Merocroca automima.

Not 100% sure, but we have ID-ed similar moths as such previously. For example, see 4420893 I'm always open to better suggestions that can be justified. 'Moths in the ACT describes it as 'a variable species'.
Challenging to distinguish with Delexocha ochrocausta at times, which seems to be even more variable.
