User's notes

The cicada song was cacophonous! I assume, all made by this species?

A loud call this early in the season would be all from this one species. A big year for them. You will probably hear them again in decent numbers at the same time of year in 2027 and 2031.

Aaahhh - four year life cycle? That makes sense, as the last photo I took of one was four years ago - and I'd wondered why I hadn't been deafened by early cicadas over the past couple of years. Thank you!

Actually two different broods, each with a 7 year life cycle, and with 3-4 years between each alternating brood
