I was sure you were going to ask me to collect it. It wasn't until i got home I found it was one of the seven percent of known larvae. Will it be safer in custody or should I return it to the wild?

If you look at the LBH website for this species, you will see we need better photos of the larva and the female. Please can you cut the case open (carefully) and photograph the the larva,( lateral and dorsal and ventral views)l and rear it to try and get a female to photogrsph and maybe some eggs ?

The case had not moved in four days so I cut it open as suggested. Not what I expected. There was a dead hylarcta and a white larva about a cm long. I assume it is a parasitoid fly or wasp larva. If it survives the trauma of being exposed and matures, I will make it another sighting.
