@waltraud I would imagine you would have to dig out the crowns, but with all that seed it would be a losing battle!

I did cut and bag fruiting females and cut and painted the cut surface but I don't know whether the latter works as the Asparagus is coming back all the time - I can't dig anymore with 2 tennis elbows and a bad back from 20 years digging & hand weeding as a parkcare volunteer.
