It is a Copperhead and the diagnostic feature is the white markings on each lip scale. Not visible here but the flat matt dorsal colouring rather than glossy black for Black Snake is also helpful for id.

Also on underside of the neck can see the start of those pale yellowish ventro-lateral scales. I will change the identification to A. ramsayi
