@heino1 I personally think so, as I've never seen an Entoloma with such dull colouring, but I'm keen to hear your thoughts! There is an old bit of wood here beneath the soil where steps have been made into the bank, which is what I suspect they are growing from, but I certainly could be wrong!
Gates & Ratkowsky’s Tasmanian fungi book includes some dowdy brown or greyish-brown Entolomas. If I see something like this obviously growing from wood my first thought would be Mycena. If it’s on soil then I’m in a quandary -Mycena from buried wood or Entoloma - or perhaps even something else.
