Thanks Michael.
Is there a way I can search directly for a species when in 'my sightings' or 'an area map'. It can be done by going down the chain: insects > sawflies > species [the chain is often longer].

If you go to your "my sightings" and us the filters on teh right side of the page eg "insects" then "sawflies" same when you are in an area map

You were also going to check for me whether a scale was on an acacia or another type of plant

Eriococcus confusus (Gumtree scale) has been updated with photos of the Euc;
re the search; I wonder if, when you are on a page [own page, map], there could be a search function where you can put in the species [or maybe even genus]. The site is fantastic, and this would make it more so.
