I was curious about the way it always kept its abdomen raised.

It is difficult to be sure from the images, but she seems to me to have white hair bands not pale, polished integument. Many megachilid bees have a tendency to raise their abdomen. In the case of females this could be to avoid losing pollen from under the abdomen.
