Homotrysis cisteloides and H. scutellaris are very similar, in fact they may be found to be just one variable species. But as they stand, H. scutellaris can be distinguished by its white scutellum (hence the name). [scutellum: a small organ, usually of triangular or shield shape, visible (in dorsal view) centrally between the bases of the elytra; it is part of the thorax]
