I'm on the fence about this one hence my suggestion originally, if Jane is happy with P.lapathifolia then that's ok with me.

To me it looks like P.lapithfolia (spike, lack of blotch, wide leaf and robust stem) but its up to you to finalise as I am not a moderator for this group. I am familiar with Persicaria spp because of their habitat is an interest area for me.
